Day 1: Arrival into Entebbe
Arrive Entebbe and transfer to the Lake Victoria Laico Hotel for overnight on a bed and breakfast basis. The Uganda Fly in Safari starts at the second largest inland Lake in the World. Meal Plan: Lunch and Dinner.
Day 2: Kidepo Valley National Park
Morning breakfast at the hotel and transfer to the airport for check in formalities before taking the scheduled fly in tour. The Aerolink flight lands at Kidepo Valley National park to commence the Uganda Fly in Safari. The waiting safari vehicle picks up and transfers to the Apoka Safari Lodge for check in. Later, starting the mid morning game viewing experience in the wilderness. Kidepo is one of the best 10 National parks in Africa according to CNN. You will traverse through the different sections of the national park looking out for lion at the rocky outcrops and will also be looking for Kudu, Cheetah, Cape Buffalo, Ostrich and other rare wildlife. You will have lunch at the first class lodge at Apoka and spend the early afternoon cooling off in the swimming pool while looking at wildlife that would be feeding all around the Lodge. Another evening game drive before dinner and the night stay at the Apoka Safari Lodge. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 3: Kidepo National Park
Breakfast and begin the morning game viewing safari on the plains of Kidepo National park. The park guests include notable explorers and renowned personalities like Ernest Hemingway, Sir Winston Churchill and Theodore Roosevelt. The morning safari with a ranger guide starts from the lodge as you see Beisa Oryx, bat eared foxes , Leopard, greater Kudu and Lion. Later in afternoon, return to your luxury lodge for lunch and the day at the pool. In the afternoon, you could visit one of the traditional homesteads referred to as manyattas of the Masai-like Karamajong tribes-people who are predominantly cattle keepers or have an evening game drive in the park. Day 4: Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast, take the connecting Aerolink flight from Kidepo National park to the Murchison Falls National park. You will land at the Pakuba airfield where you Image Travel Safaris guide will pick up and transfer on a mid morning wildlife viewing tour of the park to the Baker’s Lodge. Later, cross the Nile and transfer to your lodge arriving in time for lunch and relaxing by the pool while watching wildlife in camp. Meals and overnight at the Baker’s Lodge. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 5: Kidepo National Park
Morning wake up and transfer to the viewing deck for a morning breakfast overlooking the River Nile. Later, start a morning drive to the ferry crossing point and proceed to the northern bank with an armed ranger guide who will be happy to conduct some walking safaris at some points in the park. With chilled drinks in the vehicle, you begin the game drive in search of the big Five and other wildlife in the park. Driving through the Nyamsika flats, your ranger guide will be looking out for Rothschild giraffe, African Elephant, Lowell’s Hartebeest, the cute little Oribi camouflaging in the grass and Cape buffalo.Towards Pakuba, the Nile leaves Lake Albert to from the Albert Nile around the Delta area where the rare shoe billed stork stands motionless in the swamps. In the early afternoon, return to the comfort of your top bush Lodge arriving for lunch. You will later drive sail through Paraa along the banks where hordes of Hippo can be seen grunting and yawning in the afternoon heat. Nile crocodiles are also seen basking along the sandy sections of the river. Look out for African Fish Eagle, Long toed Lapwing Plover, Red throated bee-eater, Bush buck, Giraffe, Elephant and Leopard. Later, take pictures at the bottom of the falls near Fajao and return to your Lodge for dinner and Overnight at Baker’ Lodge. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 6: Rwenzori Mountains
Breakfast and departure for the Airstrip for Uganda Fly in Safari using Aerolink. The flight connecting to the Kibale National park arrives at the airfield in the early afternoon. The transfer vehicle will pick up and transfer along the slopes of the Rwenzori Mountains before heading to the beautifully set Kyaninga Safari Lodge to arrive after a picnic lunch. The lodge is located at the top of a magnificent Crater Lake. Spend the rest of the day at the swimming pool, at the spa or enjoying a game of tennis. Meals and overnight at Kyaninga Safari Lodge. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 7: Kibale Forest National Park
Breakfast at the Lodge and proceed with a lunch box to the Kibale Forest National park. This semi deciduous moist forest in the foothills of the Albertine rift boasts of over 12 species of primates which some of which include; blue monkeys, l’hoest monkeys, Black and white guerezacolubus, red tailed monkeys, red colubus, Olive Baboons, Grey cheeked mangabeys and the chimpanzees that have been habituated to human visitation. The chimpanzee troop is mostly in the canopies and tends to feed on the ripening fruit of the fig trees and other trees. They tend to come down on the ground when moving to other locations or when trapping other monkeys that are hunted for protein. In the afternoon, you will have a short drive back through the Craters and return to your overnight accommodation at the Kyaninga Lodge. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 8: Queen Elizabeth National Park
Breakfast at leisure and finally drive through Kasese and on to the Queen Elizabeth National park. On arrival, you will have a drive in the park as you enjoy a mid morning game drive on the plains of the park. The animals to see on the drive include the Uganda Kob, Bush buck, Deffassa water buck, Ugandan musk shrew, Giant forest Hog and Elephants. The afternoon can be spent at the swimming pool where wildlife on the peninsula can be viewed from here. Elephants and Hippo are most common during the afternoons across the Lake Katwe salt factory. In the evening, have dinner and transfer to your private Luxury Tented Camps overlooking the park. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 9: Lake Nyamunuka
Morning pre breakfast coffee and snacks before a morning game viewing safari in your customized safari vehicle. Depart through the Kabatooro gate and spot herds of elephant feed through the euphorbia candelabra trees. Hyenas active in the mid mornings at carcasses or fresh kills. Later on, maybe spot the elusive leopard or a pride of lions. Check out the crater Lake of Nyamunuka to spot the flamingos and the cape buffalo. Proceed to the Game viewing tracks across the main Kasese road and to the Kob mating grounds for photo opportunities.The Antelopes court, fight off other males and display for the females. It is also here that lions stalk the Kob and hunts witnessed from the safety of your open truck. After the game drive, you depart for the main lodge and arrive for a late breakfast and spending time in your room or enjoying a drink at the swimming pool or spa. Later on in the afternoon, have a game viewing tour of the Kazinga channel. Cape buffalo in large numbers or in solitary herds, crocodile, Hippo in large schools and a host of migratory birds on the banks crowns your day with the guide identifying each and every bird on the water. Eventually, sail back and drive out. Dinner and overnight at the Katara Lodge. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 10: Transfer to Ishasha
Morning breakfast and thereafter, check out of the lodge. The four hour road transfer to Ishasha is through the National park. See Elephant, Topi, Uganda Kob, Olive Baboon, Leopard or the tree climbing Lions in the trees along the road. Proceed though the wilderness and transfer to the Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp arriving in the early afternoon for lunch. Later on, spend the evening at camp with a local group of traditional dancers over a bonfire. Meals and overnight at this upmarket accommodation. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 11: Bwindi National Park
The lodge will provide a picnic lunch and bottled water immediately after breakfast. Then transfer to the nearby gorilla park office where the guides conduct a brief on the forest code of conduct. Eventually, start the arduous hike to the gorillas with your tracker and ranger guides. They from time to time stop for the needed breaks and water breaks. The gorillas are located and the viewing takes only 60 minutes before the lunch stop and eventual return. Dinner and overnight at the Bwindi accommodations. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 12: Back to Kampala, Entebbe
End the Uganda Fly in Safari with a hearty breakfast at the Lodge. Later, transfer to the Airstrip for the return flight from Bwindi to Entebbe. The one hour flight departs early in the morning and arrives around noon for your onward International departure flight. Also, a possibility to spend an extra night in Entebbe and depart the following day. Meal Plan: Breakfast and Lunch.
